You may not always feel your sexiest self, but here’s how you can if you want to.
By Leslie K. Hughes
Wouldn’t it be amazing if we felt sexy all the time? If we felt our most confident, powerful, desirable, love, and lust-worthy selves 24/7? The world would be quite a place if that was the case.
Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is that we don’t feel sexy all the time. We are human and we just can’t stay on top of our game all the time. Life inevitably gets in the way sometimes.
But what if I told you that you can hack the sexy system? That when you’re confidence is feeling lackluster, you could try a few different things to get back into your sexy self?
Today we are chatting expert-approved ways to feel sexy when you don’t so that you can feel sexy wherever, whenever you want.
What is the definition of “sexy?”
Sexy goes far deeper than sex (literally and figuratively).
Feeling sexy is about more than wanting to f***; it is more than the purely physical, though that can certainly be a part of it.
Sexy is a state of mind and being.
This means that the term “sexy” is subjective. What you think is sexy may be wildly different than what I think is sexy. Neither one of us is wrong – it’s simply a matter of opinion.
Take for example People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2021. Paul Rudd is not my definition of sexy, but clearly he is for other people (I see you, step-brother fantasy-loving Clueless fans.)
But what sexiness really comes down to is confidence –– the two go hand in hand. You can’t have the former without the latter.
Why don’t I feel sexy?
Your reason for not feeling sexy could be a result of a number of different things.
Here are some of the most common sexy buzzkills that could be causing your inner god or goddess to feel less than fabulous:
- Stress
- Lack of sleep
- Bodily changes
- Menstral cycle
- Poor eating habits
- Lack of exercise
- Boredom
- Depression
- Insecurity
- Sickness
So don’t get even more down on yourself if you’re having an off-day and for the life of you can’t seem to find that confidence in you. It happens to everyone.
But, if you’re ready to get your mojo back, here’s how to do it.
How to Feel Sexy
1. Play the right music
If you don’t have a sex playlist, then stop reading this and go make one right now. I’m serious. This article can wait – the right music for sex and feeling sexy can’t.
A playlist is an absolute must for everyone. Regardless of whether you’re having sex with yourself or someone else, you need the right music to get in the sexy mood.
This playlist should be full of bangers for when you’re ready to bang, and also be able to double as a great way to channel your inner sexiness when you need it.

2. Wear your scent
Some people claim that smell is the strongest human sense.
Osmology is the study of smells, and it has shown that people’s attraction to each other can be traced to their pheromones. Pheromones are natural chemicals that bring about arousal and when they’re released, you may find yourself attracting your next mate.
However, you can hack pheromones by buying yourself a scent that makes you feel sexy. It’s a good idea to have a couple of different perfumes or colognes: one for everyday wear, going to work, hanging out with friends, etc. and then one for when it’s time to turn the sexy up.
Whether you wear it for yourself or someone else, that smell is enough to trigger your inner sex god or goddess to get ready for action.
3. Get naked
It’s time for some body appreciation, baby. And this one’s best to do solo.
Get naked and stand in front of the mirror. Instead of looking at yourself with all your flaws in mind, find your best assets and focus your attention on those.
Got an amazing ass? Fabulous! Say out loud to yourself how much you love your ass. Got great gams? Perfect. Tell yourself that you love how your legs look.
The more you focus your attention on your best parts (and we all have them) the sexier you’ll feel.
4. Take a bath
Shed your old skin (literally) by hopping in a bath and exfoliating. It’s amazing how much better you can feel after you’ve gotten rid of that dead skin that is making you feel drab.
Level up your bath by turning off the lights, turning on some music, lighting some candles, and really sinking into the sexy vibes.
Lock the door for extra privacy so you can take as much time as you need to transform back into your sexy self.
5. Snap some photos
You’ll find a whole new appreciation for your body and feel ultra-powerful by grabbing your phone and snapping some nudes.
These nudes aren’t for someone else (unless you choose to share them – but that’s not their true intention).
The real purpose of these nudes is for you to remember how sexy you are.
They serve as a reminder that you are sexy and all you have to do is channel what’s already inside of you to get back to your sexy self.
